New Denver Marathon Information

This USAT&F-certified course is a Boston Marathon-qualifier and follows a scenic and spectacular route designed by Race Director Dave McGillivray and his operations team, Team DMSE, with close to 100 years of combined event management experience. The Denver Marathon has unveiled two new race courses for the marathon and half marathon for the ultimate runner experience!

The race will start and finish downtown in front of the State Capitol, travel past many of Denver's major landmarks such as the Denver Public Library and the Denver Art Museum, loops its way through "LoDo" highlighting Larimer Square, Pepsi Center, Union Station, and Coors Field, then winds through City Park, Cheesman Park, and Washington Park and their neighborhoods creating a community-wide celebration throughout the city. The final stretch of the marathon will take you down Denver's art district on Santa Fe Drive past the Museo de las Americas to the finish line and a post-race festival in Civic Center Park.

You'll enjoy true Colorado beauty, while experiencing the energy and excitement of an urban course - all during the most spectacular time of the year! And if you are not familiar with Denver's landscape, the course is essentially flat with little to no elevation change.

Course Time Limits:
Marathon: 6 hours (Minimum pace: 13:44/mile)
Half-Marathon: 4 Hours (Minimum pace: 18:19/mile)

WALKERS - Due to 6-hour time limit of the marathon course, WALKERS may only register/participate in the Half Marathon.

*VERY IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ - Roads will be closed to traffic on a rolling enclosure and reopening basis. In other words, marathoners must maintain a minimum 6-hour finishing pace (13:44 min./mile) and half-marathoners must maintain a minimum 4-hour finishing pace (18:19 min./mile). Roads will be closed to traffic in ample time ahead of the first runner and will reopen to traffic when the Official Sweep Vehicles traveling at these minimum paces passes each mile marker along the way.
